Good medication however heavily maligned by irish government due to codeine addiction, whereas alcohol is not maligned.
Codeine works simply as an opoid that binds to receptors therefore changing the brains perception of pain whereas paracetamol affects the production of prostaglandins, together they are an entry level OTC medicine that is available in pharmacies.
I use itfor moderate to sever pain and not that often thankfully i personally have never encountered a need for moreb or developing an addiction to it. However I have seen through my work that many people do become addicted to solpadeine
As I said a good fast acting medicine that's readily available
